STATESVILLE, NC – Since the age of nine, Shalonda Davidson knew she wanted to be a doctor one day. She had not decided which field, she just knew she wanted to be a doctor when she grew up!

A person of faith that does not hesitate to tell anyone she loves Jesus, and always asks Him for what she wants. With the support of a loving family, she knew one day she would become a doctor.

A native of Statesville, she graduated from South Iredell High School in 1998, and began her college matriculation at Lenoir Rhyne College and graduated in 2002. Removing from her mind the fields of medicine she had no desire to practice, she enrolled in Kent State College and earned her degree in Podiatric Medicine 2008.

With each step Shalonda Davidson called on God for guidance. She noticed that each thing she asked God for she received, therefore there was no reason to change paths. She then enrolled in the Residency Graduate Program at University Heights in Richmond, VA and graduated in 2011.

Davidson returned to Statesville in 2004 and claimed that one day she would have her own office of podiatric medicine and began working at InStride, before long she became a partner, and last month she became the sole owner1. She could only say, “Look at God.”

Realizing people often think of foot pain as a major medical concern, I asked what troubling signs reveal themselves first? Her quick reply was people with diabetes often find discomfort in their feet, warts and corns become present.

Dr. Davidson is happily single with a significant other, she loves God, family, and work. She is a proud member of Vision Outreach Ministry where Rev. James Hunter is pastor. In her spare time, she enjoys vacationing, baseball, football, watching good movies, and spending time with family.

As I was leaving our time together, Dr. Davison said, “Look at my dream car – I asked God for it and got it with no down payment.” And when one looks at the vanity tag they clearly understand: DUE2 GOD!
