The 2018 theme, “Trusting in God,” provides class sessions geared toward global learning and the S.T.E.A.M.) MODEL (Science, Technology, engineering, Arts, and Math). Campers spend six weeks over the summer in classes to include Spanish, spiritual development, math, science, creative writing, music, dance, financial development, arts & crafts, health & wellness, and leadership.

Bringing them full-circle in experiences, they visit the Energy Emporium at McGuire Nuclear Station, North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro, the International Civil Rights Center & Museum in Greensboro, take a college tour, learn to sew phone and tablet cases, build miniature solar cars, and explore cancer education and prevention.

The six-week camp culminates with a finale on Friday, August 3, 2018 at 6:30pm in the First Missionary Baptist Church Gateway Ministry Center at 59 Chestnut Drive, SW, Concord, North Carolina. The finale showcases all that the campers have learned. Past finales have included original songs, dance routines, poetry, and skits. The 2018 finale will boast much of the same and is free and open to the general public. Please feel free to come show support for their successes.
