The Statesville ABC Board is offering a Responsible Alcohol Seller Training on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2018, at the Statesville Civic Center, 300 S. Center Street, that is open to all businesses and groups permitted to sell alcohol in Iredell County, including on and off-premise business owners, managers, employees, potential permit holders and civic groups.

According to Tip Nicholson, Statesville’s ABC Board General Manager, the training is free and will be conducted by the Education and Training Division of the N.C. Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission.

Two sessions will be offered; first from 10am to noon, and the second from 1 to 3pm. Topics covered include: preventing sales to underage and intoxicated persons; dram shop liability; acceptable forms of identification; fake, altered and look-a-like IDs, hours of sale; and employee age requirements.

Register for either session by going to: http://abc.nc.gov/Education/rasp (select Area 2 on the map), on the Statesville ABC website – www.statesvilleabc.com, or by calling Nicholson at 704-873-5078.

“The Statesville ABC Board takes the responsibility of selling alcohol very seriously. We insure our employees are trained in responsible beverage sales and are pleased to be able to offer this training to the community,” Nicholson said. He continued saying, “The more we can partner with other businesses and groups, the greater difference it will make to keep alcohol out of the hands of underage persons and keep intoxicated persons off our roads.”
